Myoma Uterine Fibroids What is Myoma, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment for Myoma
A fibroid is a benign tumor that mainly consists have muscular tissue and usually grows inside the uterus. Fibroids are also called myomas. Its size ranges widely, from a small tumor the size of a pea to a large tumor almost the size of the uterus. Myomas are classified into three types, depending on the location where they are found. The intramural myoma, a fibroid that grows in the muscular wall of the uterus. This subserosal myoma, a fibroid located just beneath the outside mucosal covering of the uterus. Here the fibroid projects to the.
Outside and occasionally remains connected with the uterus only through a small stalk. The submucosal myoma, a tumor that grows beneath the surface of the uterus lining. Therefore, this type of fibroids can grow into the uterine cavity. The actual causes have development of a fibroid are still unclear. However, it has been documented that fibroids are associated with high levels of estrogen, the female sex hormone. Fibroids can only developed during reproductive years of women. Following menopause, the production of estrogen decreases which will usually cause fibroids to shrink or disappear.
Myomas are more common in nonpregnant and infertile women. In general, fibroids are asymptomatic or associated with just a few complaints if any complaints. If any complaints occur, then the location, size and type of the fibroid are the major factors. Fibroids can affect nearby structures. They can cause compression of the bladder, which may lead to urinary complaints, or may obstruct the intestine, which may result in constipation. Other complaints can be backaches, abdominal problems, menstrual flow disturbances. Fibroids can impede normal childbirth, which may require caesarean delivery. Fibroids relatively more often lead to miscarriages.
Whenever fibroids cause symptoms, they need to be removed or shrinked. Medications sometimes cause fibroid to shrink by blocking the production and secretion of estrogen. In other cases, surgery may be required to remove the fibroid. The type of surgery depends on the location of the fibroid. Sometimes it's possible to remove the fibroid with the help of the tube entered through the vagina and the procedure is called hysteroscopic myomectomy. In other cases, surgery through the abdominal wall may be necessary. In the case of a large fibroid, hysterectomy may be the only solution.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome PCOS Her Body
Hey guys! Welcome back! Today I'm here to talk to you about PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. It actually affects up to 10 percent of the female population. So symptoms start a little casually but they could start as early as during puberty unfortunately doctors don't actually know why you get PCOS but they attribute it to a really poor highcalorie diet, a sedentary lifestyle and family history but let me backtrack, I think I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself here. What exactly is PCOS It is a condition that affects your ovaries. Ff you don't mind what ovaries.
Are don't forget to go back to my previous tutorial on the female anatomy anyway so you're ovaries get enlarged and cysts begin to grow on them. Now these cysts are not harmful but they do lead to an increased production of hormones like estrogen and testosterone, throwing off the imbalance. Basically this can later lead to heart disease, infertility and diabetes. So, what are the symptoms Well some of your most common actually occur during your period such as irregular periods and really heavy period flows having said that, relax, because many times having a irregular periods or.
Heavy periods is just normal so it doesn't automatically mean you have PCOS. Other symptoms include severe acne on the face thinning of your hair on your scalp, excessive weight gain and hair growth on your face. Again this is a bit vague because not all the symptoms mean that you have PCOS. Unfortunately sometimes it's just the byproduct of puberty and being a girl. If you really, really suspect if something is up though you should definitely go to a doctor who will do blood tests to check for your hormone levels.
Fibro Cystic Breast Lump Disappears
Hi, I'm Teresa and I'm from Illinois. And, um, I came to see Dr. Lubecki because, um, of nuh.num a number of things. But, um, one of the benefits that I've received was that I have fibrocystic breasts, and, um, had a mammogram three years ago and there's a spot that they said we needed to watch. I had several cysts aspirated at the time, but that one would not aspirate. And over the three years it's been growing. And, um, I could tell after laser treatments, uh, a change in my breasts. If you've ever nursed.
I would say it was similar to a letdown feeling. So, I could tell that something was changing. And, um, I checked for the lump and it was smaller after three treatments. And, I told my family that I was here with, you know, it was smaller and texted people. And, um, after the next treatment, the fourth treatment, it was completely gone. And, it was probably the size of a marble. And, after four treatments its gone! So if you suffer from fibrocystic breasts, um, and you have to have them drained or if.
Breast Cancer Rx Might Prevent Early Menopause
It's good news for young women who have had breast cancer treatment and still want a baby. A medication called goserelin may help prevent the ovarian failure often caused by chemotherapy. I'm Shelby Cullinan with your latest health news. Women treated with goserelin were also more likely to become pregnant after chemotherapy than women who did not receive this medication.Goserelin helps protect the ovaries, which are vulnerable to the effects of chemotherapy. Goserelin may also improve overall survival rates for women with breast cancer. The research team cautioned that although the findings are promising,.
Will I Ever Get Pregnant With PCOS
My doctor says I have PCOS, polycystic ovary syndrome. Will I ever get pregnant with PCOS Yes, you can, but there is an increased risk of complications. Being told I have a medical problem, cysts in the ovaries, is so frightening. It makes me feel like something is horribly wrong, and that I'm weird. PCOS affects up to one in ten women in the U.S., so your OBGYN should be familiar with treating it. The doctor says the PCOS is why my period so often skips, why I may not have one for.
Months. Will I ever get pregnant While it may be hard to get pregnant with PCOS, it is possible. If I've got ovarian cysts, could I even carry a baby to term Women with PCOS are more likely to have a miscarriage. Because PCOS makes you more likely to be overweight, you are more likely to have prenatal diabetes. I heard about going on the Atkins diet to manage the condition. They haven't proven that an Atkins type diet prevents prenatal diabetes. There are more problems when a woman eats to get pregnant, and then eats whatever she wants once pregnant.
So I can eat for two, just not anything I want. You're at increased risk of a multiple birth. Part of that is because so many women with PCOS use fertility drugs, and partially because women with PCOS are more likely to release multiple eggs when they do ovulate. Given all the trouble to get pregnant, double trouble in the form of twins is no problem at all. Except breast feeding them. Some women with PCOS have trouble producing enough milk. But if all else fails, there's baby formula and breast milk banks at some hospitals.
Endometriosis, Uterine Fibroids, and Estrogen Dominance
Now, when we have a stage called estrogen dominance estrogen proliferates tissue when it's dominant. Estrogen within itself is very good. I helps us with our brain tissue, our memory. It helps us to think clearly, prevents foggy brain and all this other stuff. Estrogen in itself is very goodit's not bad. But when you have an estrogen dominance situation where the estrogen is very dominant over the progesterone, you're going to have all these symptoms and you're going to have a proliferation of tissue. For instance, if a woman comes in with cysts on her ovaries or cysts in her breasts.
Or she has fibroids on the inner uterine lining, or she has endometriosis these are all tissues that are being proliferated. They are increasing because she's got too much estrogen in her. Thus, we have a lot of increase in the amounts of hysterectomies because women are getting large fibroids and they're bleeding heavy, heavy, heavy, so they have anemia. I went through this myself, personally, in my forties. I had a lot of estrogen dominance but back then we didn't know exactly what to do. And so, I ended up having a hysterectomy because every time.
ICD10 Coding Annual Physical with Chronic Conditions
Laureen Q Annual Physical ICD10 question, if a patient is in for an annual physical and has chronic conditions like diabetes mellitus or hypertension, would you use Z00.01 Alicia Chandra knows this one. Chandra A Z00.01 is annual preventive or adult preventive examination with abnormal findings. As we talked about earlier, abnormal findings means we found something during that exam that we didn't already know that the patient had. Chronic conditions would be things we already knew the patient had. The thing that I go back to with that and then determining whether we knew it ahead.
Of time, look at some of your documentation guidelines. If you really want to think about it, I'm going to cite inpatient for a minute, but if you look at your Present on Admission Guidelines, they tell you any chronic condition that patient had before they were admitted are considered present on admission. It's kind of the same thought, they come in and do a preventive exam, we knew they had hypertension, we knew they had diabetes, we knew they had whatever. Even if we write them a script to refill those meds, it's not that we found something abnormal.
During this exam. It's simply that we gave them a script for their chronic conditions. Laureen Very good. Alicia If it is a new condition, they'll document that they'll be doing counseling on they're sending them to the diabetes nurse and getting counseling on nutrition that this is a new finding but Chandra And then in that case, then they also have to make sure that anytime they use the code that says they did a preventive with an abnormal finding they need an additional code to identify what that abnormal finding is. That's typically where they're going.
Healing Breast Cancer Naturally
Hi! My name is Michele and I'm with The Fruit Doctor and today I wanted to talk to you about a very important topic that affects a LOT of people and that's the topic of breast cancer. I'm sure you've seen the pink ribbons, the pink campaigns and the Race for the Cures and probably even know somebody or even have had breast cancer yourself. It's a very prevalent situation here in the United States and it can be very scary. It's something that a lot of women fear. It's not even just the fact of dying from.
The breast cancer but also the mutilation that comes from losing your breasts and having the mastectomy and having the cancer spreading and passing away from it. So I wrote an ebook called Fabulously Female and also another ebook called Powered by Plants and in both of those books I have women who have been able to share their story of how they avoided surgery and they avoided drugs, they avoided the chemo and the radiation and were able to resolve their breast cancer naturally. A lot of women do not realize that some other countries, particularly Asians, do not get.
The same rates of breast cancer that we do here in the United States. And it doesn't have to do with genetics, because if those same women move to the United States, and adopt the same eating habits that we have here then their rates of breast cancer increase and in fact match ours. So, in my books it talks about what these women did and how they were successful and I wrote this book to help other women because I myself had endometriosis which is a very painful female condition and I was able to.
Resolve it through dietary means and then I was talking with other women who healed their Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, and their ovarian cysts, and their fibroids and breast, uterine, cervical and cancer and they're very scary and yet they all have the same underlying cause and they all can be managed with a plantbased diet. Now, depending on where you catch the disease is important, I do realize that, and sometimes you may need to use nutrition as a foundation with other treatments that you are doing depending on how far advanced it is so it's not a cure all for everybody, however, if.
You're looking into prevention, this would be an important book for you to share with not only yourself but your mother if she's still alive and also with your teenage daughter. So if you go to thefruitdoctor it's called Fabulously Female and it's all about how to get your female parts in tiptop shape so that they don't give you pain and they don't become a cause of disease or death. So I wish you some vibrant health and to be happy with your female part and have them not give you any trouble. Thank you so much for watching and until the next tutorial I hope.
Acanthosis Nigricans DermTV Epi 452
The skin condition called Acanthosis Nigricans fortunately is uncommon, but pseudo Acanthosis Nigricans unfortunately isn't. If you were formally schooled in Latin, you know exactly what I'm talking about. But if you weren't, stay tuned! Let's start with what Acanthosis Nigricans, which I'm going to refer to as AN in this episode. Start with what it looks like, which'll then make you want to know more. And just to make it a little more interesting, the real Acanthosis Nigricans and faux Acanthosis Nigricans, which is the more common Pseudo Acanthosis Nigricans, look essentially identical.
Since Acanthosis just means a thickening or overgrowth of the upper layer of your skin and Nigricans really means dark or black, if we put this together its really a descriptive term from which you expect to see a dark overgrowth or thickening of your skin. Acanthosis Nigricans appears as tan to dark brown velvety surfaced plaques with parallel lines which when even deeper look like velvety parallel ribs like the nap of carpeting. You usually get it on the parts of the body where skin tends to rub against skin,.
Such as underarms, neck and upper inner thighs, but it can occur in other areas as well. Because these brown, raised, unattractive patches and plaques don't itch or burn or in any other way bother you except cosmetically, which is personally important and a real quality of life issue, the medical importance of Acanthosis Nigricans is why it occurs and whether it reflects something important internally. Most cases of Acanthosis Nigricans are not true Acanthosis Nigricans, but fortunately the Pseudo form which occurs from being overweight. The real Acanthosis Nigricans comes from certain endocrine diseases.
Such as diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, other less common hormonal imbalances, But and most importantly, Acanthosis Nigricans can be a reflection of an internal cancer which most commonly are malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, uterus and sometimes even the lung, prostate, breast or ovary. And last there are some people who have Acanthosis Nigricans with no apparent associated disease and are not overweight. For the first group whose Acanthosis is associated with obesity, endocrine problems or cancers, treating the underlying condition will result in a remarkable improvement of the Acanthosis, but what about those people who fortunately don't.
